PMG SIGNS US NATIONAL TEAM MEMBER SWIMMER CHIP PETERSON

March 1, 2011 -PMG Sports, one of the largest representation agencies specializing in Olympic athletes and coaches, officially signed the premier American open water swimmer Charles "Chip" Peterson. PMG Sports, who has a history of working with some of the greatest Olympic swimmers in the world, will focus on Peterson’s endorsements, appearances, clinics and licensing. Additionally, PMG Sports will assist Peterson in developing his public image and charitable endeavors.

“Chip represents the next generation of athletes in the United States with his incredible educational pedigree, good looks, social consciousness, and marketability in a fairly new Olympic sport," said PMG Sports President and CEO Evan Morgenstein. "He has a passion to be the best and share all of his opportunities with others.  Chip is a great ambassador for USA Swimming.”

Peterson is a US National Team Member, NCAA All-American and ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year.  Additionally, Chip took 1st place in the 10K open water competition at the 2010 Pan Pacific Games. He also finished first and second at the 2010 FINA 10K Series in Quebec and Cancun, respectively. Peterson was also awarded the 2010 Patterson Medal from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated in 2010. The award given to the top overall athlete ranks Peterson with UNC greats Mia Hamm and Tyler Hansbrough.

A native to the barrier islands of North Carolina, Peterson is currently living and training in Fullerton, California with legendary coach Jon Urbanchek and team F.A.S.T. with sights on London 2012.
